To Richard Gillespie. The three major roads the 589th built (QL 19 from Quin Nhon to Pleiku, QL 11 from Phan Rang to Dalat, and QL 1 from Phan Rang to Song Mao) are all in use today and are in good shape. I've been able to find many current photos of them on-line. Some of the "to-day" photos are included in the 589th history book that is available in the PX and thru Amazon.com.

Adopt a Grave update...

14 of you have volunteered so far to honor our fallen Brothers by placing a wreath on their grave site on Memorial Day each year. We would like to have at least 2 volunteers for each of our 26 Brothers we lost in Vietnam so we still have a ways to go. Please visit the Adopt A Grave-Site survey under the Sound-Off tab to sign up for this honor. Be sure to enter your name before submitting the form.
Thank you for stepping up!

Reply Mike, You can't delete a post but if send me an email I will do it for you. I see the double posting again and assume this is what you want deleted so I have taken care of it. Let me know if there is anything else I need to do.

We continue to receive requests from you guys on the "Adopt A Grave Site" survey that do not include your name.. It is very important that we get your name and whose grave you wish to Honor.

Take a look at the Adopt-a-Grave page. It's the 4th menu item from the top. If you submitted a request to be an Honor Guard Volunteer but do not see your name then enter it here or send it by by email. You can even give me a call at: 770-366-4411.

This is too important to miss anyone's request.

Thanks and Happy T-day. Don't forget to set your scales back 10lbs!

my family and i will be praying for all our brothers that did not come home from viet Nam . i am so sad that any Americans had to die in viet Nam , i was with the 589th from the beginning until around July of 67 then i was sent to the 137th Eng. co. . there was also 26 brothers killed in just our company and also 26 killed in the 589th Eng , death is the only guarantee we get when are born , but when it is taken before its time is a sad , sad thing.so to all our brothers that died in the war, we your brothers will never forget you , :toast: and thank all of you in the 589th for you are
