Only 113 Days until the 2014 Reunion and we have 53 Brothers signed up already! Lot of good and new things going on this year as I try to fill Perry's shoes and that is a big job! I am enjoying trying to do things for you and get things going that will be exciting and new and hopefully entice you to come to the Reunion! Watch here and watch your email for details. In the mean time register for the Reunion and sign up for the Golf Outing, it will be fun! Let me know if you have any questions and if I can't answer I know how to get hold of Perry. Every day I am more impressed with the job he did and try to figure out we all can ever thank him for bringing us together! Thanks again to Perry and Welcome Home to everyone!

To Rick and Paul - The Supply Sergeant (SSG Clayborn - spelling?)and the cook (Cirilo Silva) were traveling as a single vehicle (i.e. not in a convoy). I will have to check the map because my memory says it was Dec. 3, 1968, not Dec 2. The Song Pha area had been quiet regarding enemy on the road until this incident. Cirilo was wounded 5 times. The VC came down to look at the truck, but left when the propane tanks on the truck started to explode without either seeing Cirilo, or thinking he was dead. A Vietnamese got Cirilo to the ARVN at Tan My bridge, who then Medivacd him. An amazing survival story. Cirilo can't travel any more, but would love to have contact with everyone.

Larry, on the home page where there is a map of Vietnam with a drop down menu for Song Pha, that you mention a convoy truck being hit in an ambush killing the NCO as being Dec 2, 1968. Are you sure of that date? I remember being assigned as NCO in the convoy. For whatever reason I couldn't go and another soldier was assigned that duty. Shortly after they left, we were radioed that they had been ambushed with casualties. I was supposed to be sitting in the seat where the soldier that was killed was sitting. I didn't arrive in country until May of 1969. Was that a different event? I've always carried a little guilt that it was supposed to be me in that truck.
