First, I am so sorry to hear of Anita's passing. I met her at the 2018 reunion in Branson. She was a beautiful and gracious woman. She made me feel so welcomed at the reunion. Hugs and love to her family.

Second, I want to give you an update on Paul Titmuss, C Company. When we attended the 2018 reunion Paul had been diagnosed with Mild Cognitive Impairment. He is now in the severe stage of Alzheimer's. He was also recently diagnosed with Parkinsonism. He is in a Memory Care Facility in Frankenmuth Michigan. He is bedridden and is not really able to communicate. I am so glad we were able to make it to the 2018 reunion and sorry we have not been able to go to anymore.

I visited with Tommy McLain after he and his family completed the emotional task of making the final arrangements for his wife, Anita. I felt like all Tommy’s Brothers and friends would feel, in that I wished I could have been with him for support. Tommy shared that the services will be held at the Prospect United Cumberland Presbyterian Church on Sunday, May 21, 2023. Visitation will be at 2:00 pm, the funeral will commence at 4:00 pm, with gravesite services to follow.
The church is located at 310 Murraytown Road in Cleveland, TN 37312.
Tommy’s address is: 134 McLain Drive NW; Cleveland, TN 37311.

Tommy, each of your Brothers will be standing beside you in spirit in your time of need. We love you and are saddened by your loss.

It is with a very heavy heart that I share the news that Tommy McLain’s wife, Anita, passed away suddenly this morning from a heart attack. She had not been sick, nor had she had any symptoms. While visiting with Tommy on the telephone, he commented, “I feel like a lost dog”, which I think is a good description of how anyone who just lost their spouse would feel. Tommy indicated the family will meet with the mortuary staff tomorrow, Wednesday, May 17th to plan the funeral arrangements. I will share the funeral arrangements with you as they become available.
Tommy, we want you to know that the entire 589th family has you and your family in our prayers and in our hearts. We love you Brother.

I visited Tommy McLain by phone to learn that he has spent a couple weeks in the hospital with a combination of pneumonia and COVID. He is alive and recovering, but with limited mobility, taking antibiotics and pain medications, and still not feeling well. Tommy is uncertain about his participation in HOF this year but wants his brothers to know he is making sure his responsibilities are covered. He is having computer and Internet problems, but if you want to try, his email address is JTM302@AOL.com. I want Tommy to know we are all praying for him and wish him a speedy recovery. We love you Brother.

Welcome home Brothers

It's time to begin preparation for the 2023 Honor Our Fallen Memorial Day tribute. I am once again asking our volunteers and any new veteran members to help me by visiting one of our fallen brother's grave, by placing flowers, and possibly meeting the relatives there. As you know we do this every year and it is one of our most important legacies to our brothers and their families. I will be sending an email to our past volunteers and if I can always use new folks to help carry this load. Please contact me if you would like to volunteer. You will not forget this experience. Just ask anyone who does this every year.

Just corrected the dates of our 2023 Reunion to: Arriving on Thursday, Oct 5th and checking out on Sunday, Oct 8th.
