Ran across a Boat Person on Facebook yesterday. He was in D CO and according to the April 67 morning report he was 51B20 Carpentry and Masonry Specialist. Anyone recognize the name Peter Lamacchia? I am trying to get more info on him and get him to apply for membership. I gave him the website address so he can see what we are (no password given to him).

WOW! Only 6 months to our next Reunion! I am excited already!

Hello. My name is Christine Lussier. I am the firstborn daughter of Robert Henry Lussier. My father divorced my mother and I lost contact with him during my teenage years. I don't know much about my father except what my mother tells me that he changed after Vietnam. I saw his obituary from 2012 recently and saw that Fletcher Sapp a battalion mate. Unfortunately he passed away in 2021, but Bob Spencer wrote a note on his obituary. I am hoping that somebody will remember my dad and will feel led to contact me to just tell me about him. I don't remember much about him and he never talked to us about Vietnam. I would like to know why I am who I am and I think this could help. I would love to see any photographs any of you have also. I remember that night well Tommy. Very long night for sure.

55 years ago about this time i was lying in a shallow ditch on the South side of QL-19 across the road from a small Catholic Church next to the Bridge the V C had just blown up near the R,O,K, camp.Me and others from H q and A Cs had been loaded onto deuce and halfs and taken there to secure a perimeter around the bridge .Equipment operators were starting to build a temporary by pass around the blown bridge.
I lay there expecting another attack any time. Nothing behind me but Viet hooches and rice paddys. Probably hiding the V. C. that blew the bridge.Watching fire fights near and far and scared to death, praying for daylight.One of the longest nights of my life.

I have a lighter that my brother had. He has passed away and I have attempted a few times to locate the owner of this lighter. The lighter reads 589th ENGr. BN.on back with a symbol with a sword. Vietnam '67-'68 on front. There is a first name on back also. I will with hold that for now. If anyone knows how I could actually find this person with only first name, please contact me. 31 JAN 1968 was when TET fell that year. I remember so well that all of C Company was sent to Qhi Non airfield to pull security as additional manpower to protect the airfield. I remember riding to the airfield in the back of a 2 1/2T and for the first time seeing dead bodies as a result of the war. There were bodies in rice paddies half in and half out of the water and along the roadway. I had been in country a little over a month and it was my first contact with the real war, and I did not like it nor like how I scared I was! It was reassuring to watch the F4's dropping napalm and knowing they were the good guys! I guess it being 55 years ago it brought back memories and made me feel old and want to see all of you at reunion!

It is anew year. I have read all the obits. for the last couple years. I am truly sadden. I am sure we will lose more this year. Our numbers are getting smaller. I wish everyone that can make it come to the reunions. I will be there. I want to say I love you all. I have made allot of new friends thru the reunions. I hope to see you all this reunion. God bless all of you.
