Anita and Ii would like to thank everyone who worked so hard to make this years reunion such a wonderful and meaningful sucess, and everyone who was able to attend. It's amazing to see how we have grown from the first year. This year was especialy meaningful to Anita and I after missing last year because of major health problems. My detemination to attend this year helped in my recovery, along the thoughts and prayers, cards and phone calls from my brothers in the 589th. Thank you and thank God. Tommy

Bobby Patterson - I sent you an email on how to find out more about your Dad's 589th Buddies from Vietnam. We graciously accept and appreciate your kind words of praise to those that served our country in Vietnam. Thank You.

It was another great reunion! Perry and the guys and gals did another great job! For those of us that were lucky enough to attend this year it was very special with all the new faces that were there this year. We also had quite a few family members again this year and I think they enjoyed seeing all the love between all our Brothers. As we go forward everyone needs to know that this is the last year we will have Perry as President and John as Vice President. Perry and other A Company guys started this and now it will be up to us all to keep it going. It is time to start realizing that a few cannot do it all especially as none of us are getting any younger. Think of how you may want to help; be an officer, serve on a committee or help at the reunion with something. Like the guys that did the Memorial Service, who did a great job, and they agreed to do so at the reunion as they knew help was needed. It might be a year away but the time to start thinking how you can help is now. I was able to see how much work Perry and the guys and gals do and they do not have a lot of free time. If you did not thank them at the reunion thank them here. Again I send my thanks that Perry and crew started this and I have been able to see so many of my Nam buds and meet and make so many new friends. Hope to see even more next year!

First off, I'd like to thank all of you for your service and wish you all a sincere Welcome Home! My Dad served in the 589th in B co. thru 68 to early 69. I've been trying to help him locate some of his brothers without alot of luck but it looks like this is my best chance yet! His name is Robert (bob) Patterson. If any of you remember him, or even could help us find old photo's online of nha trang, around the bases and some other memories for him I couldn't tell you how much it would mean to him. Many of his photo's and memento's of his service were lost a few years ago. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. would love to have a nice suprise for him when he returns from his well deserved fishing trip. please contact me at Gobucks76@yahoo.com One quick little thing i'd like to share... Since I was a little boy I've always had a great interest in the Vietnam war because of my Dad and have looked up to all of you as heroes, and as i grow older that sentiment only grows. So recently he took me to a big viet vet gettogether for breakfast with 26 other vets ranging all branches. And I have to say, it was the most amazing and humbling experience of my life. The stories were amazing, the kinship they shared undescribeable and it was an experience I'll never forget. God bless each and everyone of you that has answered our nations call. Thank you for your time. Thank you for your service, Thank all of you for being my hero for all these years, and sincerely Welcome Home men (and women), Job well done!

In the fall of 68 I was in C Company, 87th Eng. That fall we had a platoon of the 513 Dump Truck Co. stationed with us for a couple of months. I think they stayed untill the 87th went home in Jan. 69, when I went to the 589th.
