Bobby Thomas, I remember the day that you got shot like it just happened. Guy's, it should be noted into the books that this guy is a HERO! He got hit saving a childs life. Bobby is not one to stand on a soap box but I, personally, believe he should tell the story on how he almost lost his life saving someone else's. I know he got a hard 5 stripe & a purple heart out of the deal but he should have gotten more. I am proud to say I served with guy's like this & would do it again in a heart beat. Tom

Sure do appreciate Carliles adventure with his book....I doubt he would remember me, but I did go visit him in the little hospital they had there in at the Phan Rang airbase. As I recall he was also somthing of an "Artist" in those days . Looking forward to reading it and sharing his story with my family and friends. If Jenkins had any idea how hard it is for me to look up all these fancy words so I don't misspell em maybe he wouldn't make fun of me all the time..Smile

Vernon Barber, I think we ran around a little at Ft. Hood, Tx. Were you divorced at that time? Do you remember Ben Dollmont, he was from Canada. How about Doc Tolbee, Phillip Hutchins, Russell Campell, William ( Bill ) Taylor? Charles Begley said Campbell Died in 08' I think and Taylor In 07'. Also Edward Reed, from Ca., he schooled me in the art of playing poker. I was a poor student ! We were a group of young men going into the unknown. Thank God for the ones that made it back, lets all pray for the safety of our troops today. Another Old soldier

Wow...Thanks for the review Bob. One of my concerns in putting my Vietnam experience on paper and then putting it OUT THERE for the world to read, was how it would be received by my fellow veterans. You have belayed my concerns.. Thanks,
