Served with 589th Eng. from April1969 to Oct.1970 as a road grader operator in Phan-Rang and Vinh-Hoa. Is there anyone who may have served during that time signed in?

I recently updated the Blog with our newest members - the total is up 517. Jesse “Pancho” Guerrero was the lucky 500th member located. What an accomplishment…517 members. I know that far exceeds Perry’s initial expectation as he began making those first telephone calls; I don’t know anyone who expected our numbers to climb this high. I believe the number speaks to how special it is to be found, and how special it is to find others, after 40-plus years have passed. I hope each of you who have spent time finding our lost brothers realize the positive contribution you have made to so many lives.

Willie, I remember that "little cruise" on the good old Pope. Somebody made the mistake of letting us get off ship at Subic Bay. The Shore Patrol sure earned their pay that day. ROFL

Looking for a gent named Cooper who was on the concrete crew and trained with me as a crane operator. I don't recall his first name, but think he was Detroit. If anyone knows of him I would like to connect and see what happened when he got out of USA. CO D, 68-69

I just realized I remember Gary Peltier. from my first Saturday night in An Khe. Seems he had a bottle of whiskey he was kind enough to share with me.

I just posted an excerpt from Al Carlisle’s soon to be published book on the 589th Blog. It is a great read - I have already read it 3 times. Al has a wonderful way of "taking you back". I understand Al has been working on this book of his Vietnam experiences for some time...I, for one, can't wait to get my hands on a copy. Good job, Al, and thanks for sharing.
