I was with the 51 Engr plt. asp @ to the 589th A co. Dec 67 ,Qun Nhon & An Khe . Sept. to Dec 68 to Bong Song. Looking for some of the guys who I worked with. On is Richard L. Weaver, from Pealand, TX.

Served with 589th Eng. from April1969 to Oct.1970 as a road grader operator in Phan-Rang and Vinh-Hoa. Is there anyone who may have served during that time signed in?

I recently updated the Blog with our newest members - the total is up 517. Jesse “Pancho” Guerrero was the lucky 500th member located. What an accomplishment…517 members. I know that far exceeds Perry’s initial expectation as he began making those first telephone calls; I don’t know anyone who expected our numbers to climb this high. I believe the number speaks to how special it is to be found, and how special it is to find others, after 40-plus years have passed. I hope each of you who have spent time finding our lost brothers realize the positive contribution you have made to so many lives.

I just realized I remember Gary Peltier. from my first Saturday night in An Khe. Seems he had a bottle of whiskey he was kind enough to share with me.

I just received a call from Larry Lehman. He was in my Utility Section Dec 68 to Dec 69. Sure would like him to come to the reunion in Sept. I'll work on him.

I just posted an excerpt from Al Carlisle’s soon to be published book on the 589th Blog. It is a great read - I have already read it 3 times. Al has a wonderful way of "taking you back". I understand Al has been working on this book of his Vietnam experiences for some time...I, for one, can't wait to get my hands on a copy. Good job, Al, and thanks for sharing.
