I am told the Stone Castle, which is the hotel and conference center for our 2012 Reunion, was not damaged so nothing has changed at this point. I will send out an email to all members if anything changes.

The 513th, is that the 513th dump truck Company. I don't remember working with them in 69/70 when I was in B Co. I do remember them from 68 when I was in C Co. 87th Engrs. outside of Cam RAHN. They stayed right in our Compound with us for a couple of months.

D Co. jul 69-jan70. EM plt leader/XO 18th Bde HQ jan 70-jul 70 A Co. CO, jul 70-feb 71 Have seen some familiar names on this blog. Look forward to the 2012 reunion. I was in the D Co. base camp at Phu Que almost from the beginning. George was correct about the two villages -- the one to the south regularly mortared us. Anyone remember the maintenance WO Frank Cheatam? How about the WO who ran 3rd shop for A Co, Cleo Harrison?

Hello all...Larry Jinkins of C Co has updated his Vietnam Impressions and you can read the new version by going to the links and Hot Issues tab and clicking on Larry's link. It's some really good stuff and if you have never read them you are in for a trip down 589th Vietnam Memory Lane. Thanks for sharing Larry.

I just posted another short story to the Blog Page for those who are interested. The story is my reflections on a detail I was assigned to in Cam Rahn Bay - it was my first few hours in Vietnam in the late summer of 1967. I am always interested in your comments and feed-back.

Boy do we have a grat thing going in the 589th! I spoke to Perry and we are pushing 500 in brothers membership. Sure glad Perry and his freinds had this idea of a reunion. As many of you are new be sure to take time to read the member list. as it gives you a chance to see if some of your buddies are on the list. You might even see a name from basic ot AIT. If you know of someone not on the lsit be sure to tell them about us and help them get signed up. Septmeber will be here before we know it, mu reservaton has been made already. See you all there!
