To All, I am not at this time going to push this Veterans Discount with Home Depot because from the feedback I've been receiving from some of my fellow War Veterans, Home Depot's Policy has not taking effect in other areas of the Country. The only reason I pushed this Issue is because they gave the Discount Year Round and then they took it away. To me, it was the Principle of it, if they never gave it, their would be no Issue, however they gave it and took it away and that's what upset me the most. Home Depot needs to treat all Veterans Equally, end of story. Thanks Carp for your support and Thank You All For Your Service, Jim

To All, After E-Mailing Home Depot twice, they finally responded to me and their Policy Stands, you either have a VA ID Card with Service Connected Printed on it or an Active Military or Retired ID Card. Even on the Veteran Holidays, you still need the same. Lowe's is much Simpler, Military ID'S or just a VA Id Card and on Veteran Holidays, if you do not have these cards, a copy of your DD-214 will get you a Discount. I E-Mailed Home Depot a third time to let them know I thought their Policy wa discriminating and never heard back from them. I ask you all to Boycott Home Depot this Veterans Day comingup and take your business elsewhere. Thank You And Happy Veterans Day To You All. Jim. Thank you Cecil and Perry for your responses.

To All, I just visited the Home Depot in South Attleboro Massachusetts yesterday, 10/22/2011 to buy a pallet of wood pellets for the heating system and when I showed My VA ID Card, I was told because it did not have a service connected disability printed on it, I could no longer get a 10 % discount except on the Veteran Holidays. I sent an E-Mail off to Home Depot when I returned home and I am waiting to hear what they have to say. If I am correct, it took Home Depot quite awhile to give this discount to Veterans on a year round basis. Lowe's has been giving the 10 % year round, not just on the Holidays. I just wanted to let everyone know that this happened and I'll wait to see what Home Depot has to say before I complain to much and if that's their policy, I'll shop elsewhere . Happy Veterans Day To You All.

I just found this site, "GREAT WORK" I was with 58th Field Depot, and ran the road scraper unit that ran all nite bringing the hill to the depot. We later laid the steel planking and welded it for storage. Saw much of your work, thanks. Anyone remember the Downtown fuel tank satchel charge. Sincerely Mike Little

To Wayne Heidtke title The Sand In the night I listen to sand blowing in my ears, and eyes and become aware of the silance of the land While I stand guard my buddies rest their weary bodie`s in the sand and all is quiet Yet there is movement to my front and the night lights up with guns a blazing, and rockets, and bombs bursting all around Night is now bright as day and men screm in fright and touch only the sand, looking for a friend or foe Yet only it`s the sand in your restless drreams, as you awake to find all is quiet lying in the sand

A tremendous THANKS to the organizers and staff of the 2011 Reunion. What an outstanding event: the best being the opportunity to see all who attended. I'll be the first to admit, remembering names and faces was not easy. But the openness and greetings eased the tension and immediately created a family feeling and environment. I know I must have missed several but limited time is my only excuse. Barb, my wife, and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire reunion and look forward to the next. We encourage all to start planning now: especially those who have been hesitant to attend. This is truly an exceptional opportunity to continue, renew, and expand friendships. I owe personal emails to several and hope to get to these soon (yank my chain if you do not). Again, thanks to Perry & Lynda, Randy & Brenda, plus all those who helped make this a fabulous reunion. Our very best to all. Be of good cheer and have a great day. RICH & BARB

I want to let you all know how great it was to see you all at the reunion! Every year I enjoy it more and more. It was great to see so many there for the first time. If you are reading this and have not been before you really need to try attend next year. I also want to thank everyone for electing me as a Vice President. I will do my best to help keep this great organization going and growing. Let me know your thoughts and what you would like to see us do. We are all brothers and we need to help each other. Thanks for your freindship most of all!
