To Frank Dees, I think I remember your Dad, if you could supply us with a pic of your Dad in Vietnam, maybe we could remember him. My son is a Marine officer and I always let him know how C company helped save the "devil dog's at Khe San. Come to next years reunion, we would be happy to talk to you. Mike

To Frank Dees - it is good to here from you. Perhaps your Father's commendation medal will provide some information as to what he did in C Company. We had two platoons that did building construction; one that did earthmoving; one that did equipment maintenance; and one that provided admin/logistics support. Your Father's name is familiar, but I can't quite place him. Most of C Company membership in the 589th Association currently consists of earthmoving members. We are trying to find more members from the other platoons. This Guestbook and the links and Issues section will provide much information about our time in Vietnam. Come to the 2012 Reunion in Branson and hang out with us C Company guys and listen to the BS. Most of us in Company C Earthmoving were involved in rescuing the Marines at Khe Sanh (oh how Marines hate to hear that). Take care. Larry

My name is Frank Dees and I just found my dad's record book as my mom was cleaning out the attic. From what I can gather from his Army Commendation Medal he was Charlie Co, 589th Engineer BN, (construction) in Vietnam May 23, 1968 - May 29, 1969. He passed away in 1994 but not before raising three sons, two of us Marines and OIF veterans. If I can provide more information on him or learn more about all of you and his time in Vietnam, please let me know. He never spoke much about it but it definitely impacted him for the rest of his life. Thank you all and God bless! Frank Dees

The Goodmans made it home in good shape, had a wonderful trip. We've made it to two reunions, and enjoyed meeting all of you and listening to the stories about Nam. It was good to know that Norm was with such a great group of guys. We would like to thank you for making us honorary members of the 589th Engineering Bn. This is a real honor. Thanks again, hope to see all of you next year. God bless!

Got back last night, boy what a trip... but we are home safe. It was a great reunion again, and was very glad to see all of you again! you boys did a great job getting it together. I want to Thank Capt. Camiso for helping me with "The Ambush", after talking to you I see just how lucky I am to be here today. I want to thank all my "C" Company brothers for your concern for my health, I hope I didn't step on anyones toes, at times I just get worked up about the past. These reunions help me to see that we are all the same, and we all have our own kind of hell, if you ever want to talk you can call me. Bushbandit.....

Made it back to Texas just before 8:00 P.M. just in time to be caught in a beautiful rain storm. I stood on my driveway and just let the rain fall on my face. Haven't seen rain for several month's, that was a great gift. Thanks to all my 589th. brothers and sisters, this was a great reunion. Looking forward to next year, hope we can find a bunch of new people. Love all you guy's, God bless and have a safe year.
