Is there a price range on the flowers for H O F. Also Doyle and I will be doing the presentation on Monday May 30th at 1 p.m. instead of Sunday at 2 p.m.

As Memorial Day approaches we will once more be placing flowers on the graves of the brothers we lost in Vietnam as we do every year. We also send Memorial Day cards of condolence to the next-of-kin of these men. I want to thank the 589th Engineer volunteers who perform these great duties each year. It means so much to so many. We are losing some volunteers who have passed and some who will be away this year. I am beginning my recruitment for a few brothers’ graves that have no one to visit them. If you can help with this great mission please contact me. You will be not soon forget this experience and the families of these brothers will not either.

I am trying to find a couple of unused 589th patches. If any one has some I would be happy to pay you for them if you want. Give me a call at 423-599-1377.

5 Months until our Reunion! Anxiously waiting! See you there!

Hello All! In my time the 589th had become a OSUT for 12B and 12C. I was assigned to Bravo Company, Beast!. Thank you all for setting the standards that we tried to uphold in 1989. I wound up in the 8th Bn at Forth Hood, where I just learned the 589th was borne. My Dad was an Army Engineer as well, he served during Korea and was sent to Alaska to build airfields with the Air force in unit known as SCAEWAF, Special Category Engineer with Air Force. I just wanted to say hello and thank you!

Does anyone know for 2022 if there is anything about donations for gravesites for flowers being there wasn’t,any for 2021. JUST ASKING

The Vietnam War Veterans Recognition Act of 2017 was signed into law by 45th U.S. President Donald J. Trump, designating every March 29 as National Vietnam War Veterans Day. 29 March is a fitting choice for a day honoring Vietnam veterans. It was chosen to be observed in perpetuity as March 29, 1973 was the day United States Military Assistance Command, Vietnam was disestablished and also the day the last U.S. combat troops departed Vietnam.

Monday, March 29th is now National Vietnam War Veterans Day. Fifty years ago, March 29, 1973 the last combat troops left Vietnam. Thank you all, my brothers, for your sacrifices.

One of the disappointments I encountered when I was discharged was when I applied for membership in existing Veterans Organisations. Most of my fellow Viet Vets were treated the same way.The Veterans Clubs did not try to recruit us,they discouraged us by letting aplications die on the vine,and other covert tactics thus leading to the creation of Vietnam Vets Orgs.
The groups were full of wwII vets and did not want or need us. Now there are so few wwII heros left that now they want us.
