its been along time since I commented here, dont know if this site is active but here goes.,been getting some calls from my platoon buddies. we had reunion at carlisle PA many years ago and perry showed up. i was surprized. but some of the guys want to do it again. mostly d company. and in PA. im sending out x-mas cards to those that i know.and will follow up about a reunion letter. i will repost a list of names that i have and if your not there ,you can lt me know. merry christmas . list of names to follow in a few weeks or less.

Well - that was a bittersweet reunion. We knew from the beginning in 2009 that the reunions would end some day, but it was still hard to take. Having the Engineer School Commandant, the Engineer School Command Sergeant Major, and an enginneer Chief Warrant Office Five in attendance at our last runion dinner in the Engineer Regimental Room was an honor. With 22 years in the military, I can say this was unusual. Going through the motions to dissolve the Association was difficult. But, nothing will take away the memories we've had over the past 17 years. Thanks to Perry, Bob, and Nick and everyone else who arranged the reunion. Keep checking this website. I was honored to serve with you in Vietnam; I've been honored to know you in peacetime. Take care. Larry J.

This was a bittersweet reunion with a great group of men that answered the call of their country many years ago to go where most of them didn’t really want to go. They did what was asked of them and then most returned home to live their lives the best they could in spite of the memories most kept hidden in their minds.. All were blessed to have returned to loved ones and live a life of service and love of their wife’s and family. Now in the twilight of our lives, we should give thanks and ask for grace to finish with love of God, family, and a sense of having made a difference while we lived. Thanks for your service and being my brother.

Just got home from our final Battalion Reunion and it was an awesome time! Loved seeing all of you and also meeting some new Brothers for the first time!

The Reunion is getting close and will be here before we know it, and then it is over! As your Reunion Chairman I have really enjoyed working with Bob and Perry on this our final Battalion Reunion! There has been a ton of stuff to discuss, cover and plan for, I could not have had two better guys to work with on this event!

We have been asked about a dress code for when we visit FLW. There is not really one but this is what was suggested by our contact at FLW; "There really isn’t a “dress code,” however, I recommend the ladies where modest clothing with closed-toe shoes for the day. The dining facility will have Trainees in attendance. I recommend dress for dinner be Civilian Casual (men open collar, slacks, with or without jacket—ladies dressy slacks, skirt, or dress (what you might wear to your place of worship)."

This is to let you all know that Ralph Downing passed away peacefully and in no pain this morning. He had been in Hospice after having two strokes.

I will post the details when I know them.

RIP Ralph, you will be missed by many!

I was with 577th and then transferred to 589th in 69 I'am going to the 577th reunion in Branson sept. 1 -6 I'm thinking about coming to see if some of guys still remember me or me them.
