Merry Christmas to all of my "Mountain Mover" buddies. I pray that you and yours will truly have a wonderful time with family and friends, and by doing so we honor our friends from so long ago who missed so many past holiday occasions. God bless you all

I was a heavy equipment mechanic with B company between February 4, 1968 to February 4, 1969. I spent much of my time in the field with the equipment. Started out in AnKhe and left out of Phan Rang.

I was only with the 589th a short period of time, as they kept me moving around quite a bit... I spent my first 3 days blind as a bat there, ( Phan Rang) due to the massive mosquito bites on the eyelids! The first sergeant sent a couple guys with me to the px, to get 2 fans and more mosquito netting...them monsters sure enjoyed me as a meal! I got to know a couple guys: Patton, and Burns, Ankrum and another guy, "Ritchie"? He drove the dozer over at the quarry! I was moved to a number of places to keep my skills sharp (anti-boobytrap and mines). To this day, it is all a blur with only a few faces and bits and pieces that really all fit together. Thanks for you comraderie and friendships! Bill

I am Norm Goodman's sister. On Nov. 15, 2009 the Goodman family had the great pleasure of meeting Dennis Cluth and his wife. It was the most amazing day. We met for lunch and conversation later. Dennis brought a map and showed us the areas where you guys were in Vietnam. He gave us pictures of Norm in Vietnam and I thank everyone who sent them for us. We exchanged stories of our lives and of Norm. Dennis and his wife are wonderful people and we are told that the rest of you are too. This gives us all great comfort to know Norm had such great friends for that year. I really wish I could meet each and every one of you and give you the HUGE hug you so deserve. May God bless all of you and keep you safe and happy.

GO Thanks very much for the phone call of 11-20-09. I want to make sure by this posting that I have no hard feelings toward you for something that happened so long ago. Any of the members of this site or any Viet Nam vet know that we were subjected to a lot of different situations at a very young age. Paul Koenig

To Paul Koenig if you are "Kraut" I am sorry for the things I said to you in a letter I wrote 40 years ago. I was very upset and had to lash out at some one. Again I am VERY SORRY. Robert GoVan "Go" 589th. D Company fire base outside Phan Rang
