WOW! Only 11 days until our Reunion! I, for one is getting excited to see everyone again--it has been awhile. Sure hope we get more sign ups soon. I hope we have name badges again so we can recognize each other behind the mask if we need them. Love you Brothers! Hope to see you there!

Hello Brothers, I am sorry to say that I will not be able to attend the reunion. I will be having eye surgery on Sept. 14 to stabilize the macular degeneration in my right eye and have cataracts removed from both eyes. I hope you have fun and enjoy, see you next time.

You said it perfectly Perry! My thoughts and prayers go out to Don's family and friends. I did not know Don except for the many Reunions he attended and I came to know and respect Don. I clearly remember the first Reunion I attended at Ft Leonard Wood and Don spoke to us about the VA. He is the one that informed me that I was eligible for VA benefits. He was a great member of the 589th and he will be missed by all! Rest in Peace Brother!

Every time I hear of another death of one of our 589th Brothers it hurts. For those I knew especially well, either from knowing them in Vietnam or from all of our reunions since, it hurts even more.

Don Baux is one of those Brothers that I knew very well in Vietnam and even more so since the 2010 Fort Leonard Wood reunion.

Don passed away on Aug 22nd and will be cremated. His visitation will be on Sunday from 4-7 at David Henney Funeral home 6364 Library Rd, Library, PA 15129. The burial service will be at 10 am Monday at the national cemetery of the Allegheny’s. More info on the obituary and arrangements will be posted on the Latest News page.

You will be missed by so many Don. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers. Rest in Peace Brother.

I received a call from David (Goody) Goodrow and his wife Chrissy today. They called to let me know that David is in need of our prayers as his lungs "are shot"; his words.
He was really looking forward to trying to attend the Reunion this year but will not be able to.
Please do not forget to add Goody and his family to your prayers. He might appreciate it if his fellow Boat People give him a call. that is a suggestion from me as he did not ask that. Love you Brothers!

Sorry to hear about Al Carlisle passing. Have any of yall read his book..Depth of Field? One of the best i've read about experiences in the Nam. Rest in Peace Al!
