As we get ready to celebrate Thanksgiving this year it may different than any other year.

Some of us will not be able to travel or have the usual big dinners which will be a big change for us.

One that will not change is that we have men and women serving in our military. So as you give thanks this year be sure to remember them all in your blessings.!

I hope all of you are well as possible with our age group and you all are safe from this horrible COVID19.

Hope to see you in September which looks more likely now that there is a vaccine on the way!

Love you all and Happy Thanksgiving!

Guys, In case any of you enjoy Military History, I found sometime ago a very informative site. FOLD3 is the name. Not sure how to link it but you can google it. They offer a full benefits package for a charge but you can also look and find info at no cost. For example, I found My Father's draft registration card from the early 1940's. Just had a note from them announcing posting of information about Native Americans in the military. I found information about ancestors in the Civil War and WWI. You get the picture.
Anyway, if that sort of thing interests you at all, take a look. Send me a note if you have any questions about it.

Belated best wishes for all my brothers on Veterans Day.
Just saw the note that Jim Clower passed. One of the good guys whom I always enjoyed talking to on the phone. May he Rest in Peace.

Stay safe and well.

Got a call today from Tom Leasure informing us of the passing of Jim Clower, B Co. Jim was a Great American that I came to know very well through many phone conversations and emails. He faithfully represented the 589th as a HOF Volunteer for Jessie James Tyler.

I regrettably am unable to post a proper obit for Jim on the Latest News page due to computer issues. Here is what I have so far:

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Harold Clower of Columbia, South Carolina, who passed away on November 10, 2020, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends can send flowers and condolences in memory of the loved one. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of James Harold Clower to pay them a last tribute.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 17th 2020 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel (7600 Trenholm Rd Ext, Columbia, SC 29223). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 18th 2020 at 12:30 PM at the same location.
