I have not been computing much lately. Just trying to stay out of the line of fire these days. I was sorry to hear about Jim Johnsons passing. He was a good friend. He could sure play a guitar. Good mechanic too. He would come to our hooch too and play and sing for us. You guys be safe. We'll get through this.

Hello All, Hope everyone is well and avoiding this virus overflow. We're staying pretty close and just trying to keep all body parts out of the line of fire. Sound familiar?
Need some help with a request from a guy who wants to write a Virtual Wall tribute for David J. Enmon who was our first casualty. If any of you have first hand knowledge or can point me to someone who does, please send me an email or phone call and I'll get them in touch with this guy. I worked with him a couple years ago when he wrote a tribute for another of our guys. Welcome Home My Brothers, Stay safe. Dennie |

Hello Brothers! Hope you all are well and following the guidelines for trying to stay virus free. It is surely a trying time for us all, especially not being to see family and friends.
Here in Oklahoma and the small town I live in it is growing slowly but it is scary when all the new cases we see are growing so quickly! Hope to see you all next year! I found reviewing the pictures of our Brothers from Nam helps pass some time and not think about the virus. Good health to all stay safe! Love you all Brothers! |

I was in Soddy Daisy Tenn. last week and I stopped at the viet vet center there and spoke to a lady about if she knew any of the 3 men I was asking about and she said that one of the men had died before the holidays by the name of James Johnson. don't know if anyone out there remembers him or not so I thought i'd pass this along. I don't know anymore than that other than him being with the 589th.

P.S. I don't know how that stupid "imoji" or whatever you call it ended up in may last email.
Reply It sometimes does weird stuff with punctuation. It was caused by the " and ) used together. I removed it, buddy.

I'm sorry to report that Cirilo Silva "Bush Bandit" passed away on September 22, 2019. Cirilo was Brazilian from Portuguese background. He reminded me of the "Godfather" - raspy voice, white hair and beard, attitude. Cirilo was hit 5 times by AK 47 fire during an ambush just west of the Tan My railroad bridge on the road between Phan Rang and Song Pha. The other person with him, Claiborn, was killed. How Cirilo survived that ambush and managed to get to the South Vietnamese unit at the railroad bridge on his own is one of the greatest military "miracles" I've heard. After recovering from his wounds he visited his family in Brazil. There he was arrested and placed in jail for avoiding the Brazilian draft - and was accused of cowardice for avoiding the Brazilian draft by individuals who had never been in combat. It has been an honor to know him and his wife, Diane. RIP Brother.
