Need a little help here. Can somebody refresh my memory as to which one of our Fallen Brothers was killed by a Korean at a bridge. Any details would be appreciated as well.

Thanks Brothers

What a difference a day makes!!!

In just 24 hours since the request for HOF funds were sent out we have received donations of $2,620 from forty-two of our members, bringing the total contributions for this year's Memorial Day - Fallen Brothers ceremonies to $4,495. Anything received over $3000 before this year's cut-off date of May 31st will be set aside for future ceremonies.

Just as important though is our show of support from our 56 members that made a donation to honor our Fallen Brothers. This is the largest show of support since we started the HOF in 2015. Thank You! Your names will be added to the 2018 Honor Our Fallen Donors list to reinforce the "Never Forgotten" mantra.

Let's not stop now though, get your name on this list to show your support by making a donation of as little as $5. Let's get Two-hundred (200) names there!

We have over 50, 589th Volunteers that give up part of their Memorial Day weekend each year to Honor the men of the 589th that never came home to their families. Some travel great distances at their own expense to carry on this tradition.

From all of your 589th Brothers we say "Thank You" for sharing part of your Memorial Day weekend by remembering a 589th Fallen Brother in placing flowers on their grave. Because of you, we have shown the NOK and friends of their loved ones, they are truly "Not Forgotten".

The Honor Our Fallen ceremonies held each year over Memorial Day weekend are right around the corner. The cost for the flowers runs right at $3000. So far we have donations of $1675 which is far short of our $3000 goal.

Everyone's name that makes a donation, no matter the amount, is listed on the HOF donations page for that year. I am embarrassed to report that we only have 14 names listed there for this year. My vision was there would be hundreds of names on that page to show anyone that visits it we "Never Forget" our Fallen Brothers.

So, we have just 10 days to reach our goal for this year's donations which ends on May 31st. It's as simple as a couple clicks from the Main Menu. To make a donation by credit or debit card go to Donations then Honor our Fallen tab. Remember, it's not about how much you donate, it's about how many show their support by donating any amount. Let's get 200 names on that page Brothers!

Thanks for supporting your Fallen Brothers,
PB

LeRoy glad to see that you are still alive. Alex is doing a lot better. He can not run any foot races yet. When he can, I will pair you two up together. By the way, how are you. Take care. Willie.

Guess I'm getting weepy-eyed in my middle-age. I've been thinking of those we've lost since Vietnam. Perhaps we should remember them at the reunion as well? One way (among other possibilities) is that of, after the reading of those we lost in Vietnam, each unit then read (without ringing the bell since that would take too long) all of the names of those lost in that unit since Vietnam. Each unit would read all of its names at one time, and then pass on to the next unit to read all of its names at one time. Other thoughts on this?

Bob Spencer videod an amazing interview with Cirilo Silva about how Cirilo managed to survive 5 bullet wounds and make it to safety on his own. Clyde Hutson has joined the segments of the video together and sent it to Perry. Perhaps viewing this video and some of the other videos might be worthwhile at the reunion? Cirilo and his wife have not been doing well.

Many people were missing from the last reunion because of the hurricane going on in many states. So I'll provide an update on the decision that was made about changing the reunion location. It was decided that anyone who wanted to change the location from Branson is to provide a written proposal to the Association that includes such things as the city location, the hotel to be used, the hotel room rates, amenities provided by the hotel, hotel open bar policy, availability and cost of conference rooms, local attractions (especially for the wives), nearness to an airport, etc. This is May. Hopefully there will be some fully researched proposals provided to the membership in September. 50 years - who would have thought!

Hey "Castle Man" James. Welcome Home Brother.
If you don't get a hit from the note left on STL car, get back to me and we will see if we can track him down.
I'm a MO guy who left the snow for sunshine. We had at one time about 25 or so 589th members living in the Show Me State.
Stay in touch.
