Fellow 589th Members- This Wednesday, January 31st, is the 50th Anniversary of the TET Offensive which began on the Lunar New Year in 1968. Those of us who served with the 589th at that time all have memories of our own personal experiences of that time. Can it be that it was a half century ago? Hard to believe.

Sent everyone an email but posting its contents here as well just in case you didn't get it.:

Hello Brothers,

Quite some time ago I received a recording by Dennie Pendergrass of an interview he had with LTC Myron Snoke. LTC Snoke was our first Battalion Commander at Fort Hood and in Vietnam. I have had the privilege of having several conversations with LTC Snoke and they were all just amazing. Just a wonderful man to talk to. His memory is still very sharp.

If you ever served in or were attached to the 589th you will appreciate this interview. So, pour up your favorite beverage, sit back, and listen to Part 1 of 2 on our 589th Homepage. Part 2 is coming soon. Go to the Homepage. Scroll down a bit, turn on your speakers, and enjoy. I think you will agree that this is time well spent!

Good news! Ralph is out of the hospital and home to finish recuperating. They did not find anything major and his primary care doctor will now take over.

Thanks for all your prayers Brothers!

Here I am again! Need to ask you to keep Ralph Downing in your prayers. He is in the hospital in Evansville IN overnight for observation. He experienced some memory loss and confusion so Carolyn and their son took him in to the ER. Right now they have run some test and will run some more tomorrow. They do not think he had a full bore stroke but could be a mini stroke which many folks fully recover from. I will let you all know more as we find out. Prayers are appreciated for our Brother!
