So sad to hear about John! In the short time I knew him I considered him a Brother and a friend! I had lunch with him and his daughter several years ago as I passed through Schereville. His daughter and he were rehabbing houses and he was enjoying retirement because of it. He will be missed by many! RIP John! Our prayers are with Linda and the family!

John will be missed by so many. He was my friend and hootch mate in Nam. He served his Country proudly and was a decent man. He was a True American!

Linda, I am sorry to hear that John past away. Patsy and I will keep you in our prayers.

I have been chatting with john regularly and thought he was getting better.Mon.he said he was going home Tue.I was just getting ready to send him a text but checked my email first and saw Perry,s letter.So hard to believe and he never let on as to how bad off he was.He will be missed . RIP Brother.

I just got a call from Linda Hunt letting me know that John had passed away today.

I'm without words. I will let you all know when I get details of the service.

For those of you that do not know, I'd like to share that our Brother, John Hunt, is in Vibra Hospital near Merrillville IN recovering from chemo treatments for lung cancer. He has been fighting this for several months. He has lung scar tissue that make it hard to breath w/o oxygen.

Fellow 589th Association Members- I'm planning on hosting a mini-reunion dinner here at a restaurant in the Los Angeles area sometime in November or early December. I've gone over the 589th membership roster to determine who lives within a reasonable distance in the area and who might want to attend a get together/meet and greet on a weekend afternoon or evening. Just wanted to let all the Brothers know that our Brother Eddie Swann is in the hospital in Nashville Tn. He is in ICU and in bad shape. Lets all keep Eddie in our Prayers.

Joseph Riehm passed away on Saturday September 23 2017
He so wanted to attend the reunion this year in Branson but was to sick so we had to cancel.
His celebration of Life will be Saturday October 7th at Strike funeral home. Isanti Minnesota at 10.

Lynda and I were very surprised to learn that a couple 589th members sent flowers to her Mother's Memorial Service last Saturday. Very nice touch Brothers. Lynda knows who you were and was very touched by your kindness.

It was nice to see John and Marti Miller who came to pay their respects.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers during this most difficult time. Her Mother passed away while so many of you were enjoying the Reunion in Branson.
