First time on site amazing, great job. served co A 69-71 2 tours. First worked at the quarry at night with the best comrades and sergeant ever. I was the one that got electrocuted by touching a conveyor with 440 volts. The sergeant (name) or someone kicked me off. THANK YOU feel free to email me Smile

I received a few more names from John Hunt today and after checking the SSN death records I am sorry to report that 3 of the 5 are deceased. They are all from B Co and their names are:

Charles I. Crooker Inglewood, Calif.
Timothy P. Winegar Coshocton, Ohio
Donny G. Martin Spokane, Washington

I have included more info on them on our Losses Since Vietnam page.

The other names have been forwarded to their respective Co. representatives.

Thanks John for sending this.

I was a Heavy Equip Operator with the 46th Engr Detachment(Utility) at Qui Nhon / Phu Tai Valley Apr thru Nov 1967. I have never been able to find ANYTHING on my Detachment and am hoping some of the 589th may have heard of them as I was an operator on a Scrapper belonging to them that was called " Dear John " with a unit number of, it looks like 072
Hope some of your people may know of them

Frank

“You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time”.”
― John Lydgate

This is an election year for our Officers of the 589th. If you are unhappy with the way things are currently managed or you simply want to contribute your talents and skills to the organization, please feel free to place your name on the ballot. The vote will take place at our Business Meeting in Branson on Saturday, 9 SEP 2017.

Willie,
Thanks for the question. I responded with a post to the Latest News. My opinion isn’t worth much, but I am always willing to share it.

We received a notice from Barbara, Lenny Colby’s wife, that he passed away January 16, 2017. Our brother, Lenny, has been suffering from a heart condition attributed to exposure from Agent Orange for over 20 years. Lenny served in A Company while in Vietnam from July 1967 to July 1968. Our condolences go out to the Colby family. Please know that Lenny will be missed.

Nick, did you move to Ill? You were living in Ok. Patsy is doing better. We may make it to the reunion after all. If we do we will talk. I have a few thing to talk to you about.
