Larry Jinkins and I just completed a "road trip" thru Florida visiting George Gomes, Gary Cowie and Glen Clark. All from the EM platoon of C Company. We had a great time catching up on old times and drinking toasts to our fallen comrades.

I was one of the original bunch of guys assigned to the 51st Eng. when it was put together at Ft. Lewis. I drove a 5 ton dump when we were sent to Nam. I went over on the boat Adlphi Victory with our equipment along with SP5 Gagliano. After in Nam for a short time, I was pulled out of the dump and was given the job of driving LT.Grant to Cam Ron Bay to receive our asphalt plant. When we got back to base camp about a month later I was assigned to be LT. Grants full time driver. I left Nam in May 1968 and returned home the day of the Indy 500 only to be spit on and called baby killer at the airport. Some homecoming, Have not been in contact with anyone I was in country with and was wondering if any were still out there. My wife and I just found this web page and spent a few hours checking it out. Good job to the caretakers of the site.
