FYI, Doyle Breeden has supplied us with a photo of Freddie Michael Sherlin. Thanks Doyle for putting a face on another one of our Fallen Brothers.
By the way if you go to our Fallen Brothers/In Vietnam tab and click on their names you will now see their photo at top of the page. Thanks and let's keep going until we have a photo for all of them. :toast: |

Hello Brothers,
We do not have pictures for 5 of our fallen brothers and there are 3 of poor quality. If you have a picture of those listed below or would be willing to help find one, let me or Perry know. Need pics for: Raymond Henry Gray, Carleton Philip Hastings, Freddie Michael Sherlin, Jesse James Tyler and Anthony Robert Werner. We need a better quality pic for: John Joseph McNabb, Lester Ropeter and Lawrence Edward Schmidt. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Welcome Home Brothers. Dennie P |

Hello all,
Several attendees from the Ft Hood mini asked if I had an address where they could send a personal "Thank You" note for all the 62nd Eng Bn efforts. I have the address so if you want to send a note let me know and I'll forward the address to you. If you use Facebook, they have a nice site and a place where comments can be made. Thanks to all who attended the event. I was blown away with all the effort by the unit. Dennie P |

WOW! Did we have an awesome trip to the Viet Nam Wall. Larry Jinkins, Freddie (Karen) Guth, Don Swenswurd, Dennis Cluth, Ralph Downing, George (Darlene) Gomes, Bill (Bev) Stafford and myself laid a plaque for Norman Goodman, had a toast to him and a second toast to all (We used sparkling grape juice as it was federal property--did not want to get sent to Nam!). Larry gave "Present Arms" and Order "Order Arms" and then we had a moment of silence. During this time no one walked between us and the Wall, it was truly amazing and respectful! Watch for pictures as soon as we get them all together. Besides the Plaque we left our Flask, Shot Glass, Challenge Coin and a listing of our Brothers with our Crest and the 18th Brigade pin.

Thanks for the healing that took place this past week at Ft. Hood.
After 50 years I had no idea the feeling could be so strong. I today am more proud to have been part of all of you 589th veterans serving our Country. The 62nd Engr. soldiers went above and beyond welcoming us home. |

Not only did the attendees of the Ft Hood mini reunion have a great time, under the leadership of John and Fritz Ryan they also raised a lot of money for the 589th Association. In addition to selling PX items, John and Fritz promoted a Raffle Auction to support the Honor our Fallen program – the auction raised over $2,000. An auction of that size speaks not only to the generosity of the participants, but the generosity of those that freely donated all the auction items. We can’t thank you enough.
