Hello Brothers,
Just received some historical info, arranged courtesy of Troy at the Engineer Museum. I'll try to get it all summarized and in a readable format soon.

One item that I wanted to pass on is that the 589th received Participation Credit for 12 different campaigns in Vietnam.

Perry,
What's the matter? Feeling lonely!!
Thanks for all your work and notes.
Guys, let's try to help him out and post something.
Thanks for the Road to Dalat link. I'd forgotten about that. Would be interesting to hear if any of our guys remember that or can identify if you were involved in the process.
Some great pictures in the article.

Yeah I know, I'm blowing up the Guestbook! Well it seems like most everyone else has forgot how to post a comment so somebody's gotta do it.

Here's a little GeeWhiz info for you:

In the last 30 days we have had 1,432 Guestbook Page views. Of those 1,432 views there have been only 14 posts from you guys other than the ones I made.

This tells me that we come here a lot, in fact the Guestbook is our #1 Page visited on the website. We all want to hear from our Brothers, all our Brothers, so make an effort and post something good or bad. We want to read it!

I have just added a new link "On The Road To Dalat" on our 'Links' page. There are 513th trucks in the photos, but references to the 589th are made as well.

I am pretty sure Dennie Pendergrass sent it to me some time ago, but it fell in a crack and I just dug it out this morning while doing some website clean-up. No, not that crack!

Click on the Links tab at the left and enjoy the great pictures.

By the way there are probably some other links there you might not have seen as well.

Welcome Home Brother!

Wanted you all to know that I received about 200 photos from Randall Carey of C Co. His TOD was from Apr67-Apr68 so these are early 589th Vietnam photos.

You can view them by going to the VN Photos/C Co/Carey tab from the menu at the left.

Thanks for sharing Randall.

Just thought you might want to know...

When the 'Honor Our Fallen Donation Page' was designed we made donation options of $250, $100, $50, $25, and 'Other'.

We have had several donations of $250, $100, $50 and $25. All of those donations are greatly appreciated and go directly to fund the expenses of placing flowers on our Fallen Brother's graves on Memorial Day weekend.

If you select the 'Other' option it lets you enter any amount you wish such as $5, $10, $15 or any other amount.

One such donor used this 'Other' option and filled in the amount for $1000, One Thousand Dollars!

That donation was from Jim Swick; A Co.

We just wanted you to know and to give Jim a special "Thank You" for his very generous donation!

Mini reunion with Rich and Barb Comiso with Anita and I at our home last Thursday afternoon. We then attended my local chapter monthly meeting of the Sons of the American Revolution with Rich as the guest speaker. Rich did an outstanding job presenting a program on the history of the Army Corp of Engineers begining with it's origin in the American Revolution up to the present day. We have a lot history and a lot to be proud of.Welcome home Brothers
