Yeah Carp...know what you mean.. I have developed this inferiority complex about not being a boat people....then from just out of nowhere got over it...wish I had some sophisticated reason to share but I'm so busy looking up the spelling on all these big words, I forgot everything I was gonna say.... :toast:

Hello there Dennis, I sure do remember you! If I
remember correctly we were in our guntruck on a
run down to Phang Thiet when Sgt Gunny disarmed
a live grenade in the dirt pile covering a 155 howitzer
round... had the whole convoy shut down sweating it out. Great to hear you made it home, welcome home brother!! :toast: :toast:

Hey Carp! I don't think anyone means any harm by boat people. I did not go over on the POPE with you all but I respect all of you that did. The ships name was the Pope but their is no way I am going to call any of you "the Pope People"! LOL

Hello Boat People and all of the 589th Brothers. Counting the days until Fort Hood. It will be great to go back to where it all start at. Talk to a friend this morning who was assign to the 589th in 66 but got transferred to the 16ht Engr Bn. Then after 6 months he went to Vietnam. He went to Hoot in 95, said the place didn't look the same. We will all find out in Apr.

Dennis Knight, tell us a little about your self. I was in C CO the EM Platoon from Dec 67 to Dec 68. Knowing a little about someone often makes someone remember you. Were in the 589th and what company, when and where! Glad to hear from you!
