What a great surprise to have "LT" Herb Hines surprise those of us in C CO EM Platoon by coming to the Reunion. He did not register just so he could pull the surprise off and he did! Thanks Herb, we all love you and thank you for keeping us safe in Nam!

The association says 589th (Vietnam).Do we have members that were at Ft Hood and did not go to Vietnam? If we are only those who served in Nam then its 1967,if not then its 1966.Its the boards decision. In the big picture whats the difference as long as we get together.Let the board do the nit picking and the rest of stay focused on the friendship and brotherhood

Anita and I had a great and meaningful time at the Reunion.I was honored to participate in the business meeting and the memorial service. As for some of the decisions that were made so what,Isometimes argue with myself about what to have for lunch.
I think all the goals and reasons we started the Association were met or exceeded and we still love and respect each other as brothers

Willie Bonney,

Thanks for your post. Your questions definitely deserve a response. The Guestbook only allows 750 characters in a post, so I will respond to your questions in an e-mail to all 589th members. We are limited to the number of emails we can send out per day, so I will begin sending them this afternoon, understanding that it may take a day or two for all of them to go out. Thanks for sharing what is on your mind. Welcome home Brother.

I will have to admit that attending the 589th Reunion is like going to the doctor for my annual check-up. Nobody wants bad news and I am as guilty as the next guy about doing everything possible to avoid it. But I have always gotten good news at the Reunions. The good news I return home with is, "Bob, you and your problems are not so unique after all. All of you are going to be fine." I come home thankful that the 589th Engineer Association is my Band of Brothers. I return knowing I am a better person for each conversation I was able to share. And most important, I return home thankful that while we met as kids, we have been given an opportunity to know each other as adults also. That is pretty cool! Welcome home Brothers.

Hope everyone made it home from the Reunion OK. We got back mid afternoon on Monday.
Thanks to all those who made the trip to Branson and helped make it a great reunion. I enjoyed meeting the first timers and hope they all had an enjoyable time.

Made it home, but we are real tired. I enjoyed most of the reunion, but there a few things Im just don't under stand. why was there a secret meeting behind closed doors to choose who was going to be on the board. Why didn't we all get to help do this. Another damn thing, the 50 year reunion should be held at Fort Hood Texas. Oh yes the 50 year is in 2016, because that is when the unit began. We went to Vietnam in 67. You want more people to attend the reunion, then move it from Branson Mo. People are tired of having it there. MOVE IT. I know I have piss some people off whom cares. If any one else agrees with me E-Mail me. Oh yes Charles Begley you knew this was going to happen, because were in on it.

Here is the 10 day forecast for those of you staying over in Branson.
http://www.weather.com/weather/tenday/l/USMO0099:1:US

Copy and paste this in your url for the 10 day forecast.

Hope to see you all there!
Reply Nick,
Although your post was not too many characters it was too many lines and covered up the Guestbook footer which allows looking at previous pages. I am inserting the link for Branson's ten day forecast instead.

Thanks, Perry
